a growing bond

i love this. it doesn't happen much, but i'm beginning to watch as will and ava really start to enjoy each other. they managed to get themselves into this wagon...with drink and snack in hand, and they stayed there a good 30 minutes. chatting and babbling about who knows what. it's so fun watching them really start to play together...don't get me wrong, we still experience our fair share of sibling rivalry. but this "snapshot" now in my head makes it all worth it.

"To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time. "

i am cake

this doesn't happen to me much, but the other day while making greg's birthday cake, i had a deep thought. i was looking at his poor birthday cake that i baked...it was so ugly...torn apart...it was a sad sight. it needed some serious help. i started slatthering it with icing and swipe by swipe it became more and more beautiful...well, presentable. :-) i am that cake. without Jesus covering ALL of me up, i am an ugly, unpresentable, mess of a person. i need icing. i need less of me and more of Him. cover me up Lord...

For those of you stressed-for-time moms...this is a lifesaver! My friend, Kim, told me about this girl (who is one of her friends). Here is the link...

stuck

I'm inside cooking greg's favorite birthday meal when I hear... "sarah....sarah"...I walk outside and look up to greg saying, "I'm in a bit of a pickle." hilarious. he decided to climb up on the roof (go figure?!) and he couldn't get back down. (notice will's outfit... plaid on plaid. he's into dressing
himself these days and takes NO input from mom)

a cold day at the capitol....

The Capitol lawn is a great place for a picnic or play date! It's got a great lawn, lots of room to run and play and a great view of downtown! Too bad we picked one of Austin's coldest days to go!

yea for warm weather!!

One beautiful thing about Austin is all the fun outdoor pools, playgrounds and sprinkler parks! Last Saturday we went with our friends, the Blantons, and let the kids soak their clothes (and diapers) in the sprinklers. Afterwards, we got some all natural...no corn syrup added snowcones(only in Austin...this is the most stinkin' healthy city I've ever been to)...but they were still muy deliciouso!!

Here we go again....

Okay...so here's my attempt to start this whole blogging thing again! We've been in Austin for almost 5 months! We've made some friends, love our Church and LOVE the weather! Austin is a really fun city. The obvious is that we miss our friends and family in Fayetteville, but I would say that moving has been a smoother transition than I thought. The kiddos keep me busy so I haven't had tons of down time to be sad which has helped I'm sure! And, having Greg home more has been great!! So, stay tuned for more posts! I promise to become a better blogger! :-)
